What is My America?

My America: Immigrant and Refugee Writers Today is an interactive multimedia museum exhibit that honors and explores the work of contemporary immigrant and refugee writers in the United States. It was developed by the American Writers Museum in Chicago, IL.

How do I use this website?

To get started go to the Exhibit overview page. From there, you can explore any of the themes that writers were asked about. Use the navigation buttons at the bottom of each theme page to move from theme to theme.

Where can I see the My America exhibit in person?

My America is currently on display at the American Writers Museum, located at 180 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL. Please go to americanwritersmuseum.org for more information about hours and ticket prices.

How can I use My America content in my classroom?

To access My America learning materials please go to the Education Page and select “Get Educational Materials.” You will be prompted to complete a form in order to receive access to the downloadable material.
